We are a leading barristers Chambers with 78 barristers, including 24 KCs, based in London and 55 based in our Annex in Brighton.

We are regularly rated as one of the top 30 sets of Chambers in England with large numbers of our barristers listed in Legal Directories as leaders in their field of practice.

Tracing our history back to the 1930’s, we have developed a strong reputation in particular for our advocacy skills. High standards are set to obtain a tenancy here. This strict “quality control” is reflected in the large numbers of Members who have become KCs and in the regularly high numbers of appointees to the Attorney General’s A, B and C Panels. 

We run the widely acclaimed UK Human Rights Blog (http://ukhumanrightsblog.com) and legal podcast Law Pod UK. Our members also publish the Quarterly Medical Law Review (QMLR) available on our website.

In Brighton, we practice in Family, Civil and Regulatory Criminal law from a centrally located Annex established 50 years ago with clients drawn from Brighton & Hove and a wide swathe of the South Coast and areas South of London.

We provide dispute resolution and mediation services in London and Brighton and several Brighton-based barristers also accept work in accordance with the Bar’s public access scheme i.e. receiving instructions direct from members of the public.
