Arun Shivdasani

Arun Shivdasani is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of 2U, where he leads financial strategy, corporate finance, and accounting.

A seasoned executive with over three decades of global finance experience, Shivdasani has a proven track record of leading transformation and driving growth across education and technology companies. Having worked in best-in-class large public companies and mid-sized private equity-backed businesses, he has the unique ability to balance agility and innovation with operational rigor and financial discipline.

Most recently, Shivdasani was Managing Partner at Blue Tanzanite Advisors, a boutique firm offering financial advisory services to CEOs and private equity firms. He has also served in a variety of CFO roles at technology companies, including Tangoe, Bloomberg Global Data, and Bloomberg Government.

Shivdasani’s passion for education stems from his time at Laureate Education, where, as CFO of Walden University and other online universities and partnerships, he drove top-line growth with margin expansion while improving student outcomes. Shivdasani played a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the business at a time of significant industry change marked by evolving regulations, disruptive innovation, shifting business models, and increasing competition.

Shivdasani holds an MBA in Corporate Finance from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Delhi. He is also a Chartered Accountant.
