Michael Aiken

Michael Aiken is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in additive manufacturing, hardware engineering, and research. Currently serving as a Senior Materials and Process Engineer at 3D Systems Corporation since October 2021, Aiken specializes in R&D within the realm of additive manufacturing, leveraging expertise across various industrial printing processes while bridging materials, hardware, software, and systems engineering. Prior roles include Senior Hardware Engineer at Tektronix with a focus on advanced ultrasonic microscopes, and a Graduate Intern at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. Aiken has contributed to both academic and practical engineering environments, including a graduate research assistantship at North Carolina State University and a research fellowship at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Aiken holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics-Engineering Physics from Appalachian State University.
