Kerry McGowan

Kerry McGowan is a motivated data scientist currently working at A-Alpha Bio since January 2023, following a position as a Data Science Intern at the same company from May 2022 to August 2022. During the internship, Kerry optimized a Python pipeline for analyzing protein-protein interactions and collaborated with a team on drug candidate discovery using AlphaSeq technology. Prior to this, Kerry completed a PhD in Biology at Washington State University Graduate School, where significant experience was gained in producing and analyzing next-generation sequencing datasets, alongside developing analytical pipelines in Bash, R, and Python. Earlier roles include serving as a Volunteer Coordinator with AmeriCorps at Puget Soundkeeper Alliance and as a Corps Member with American Conservation Experience, focusing on environmental stewardship and habitat restoration. Kerry holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Muhlenberg College, obtained in 2015.
