Aalo Atomics
Gavin Ridley is a Neutronics Analyst at Aalo Atomics, responsible for core design and optimization for the Aalo-1 reactor since May 2023. Ridley has a strong academic background, currently pursuing a PhD in Nuclear Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with a focus on GPU-oriented algorithms for continuous energy Monte Carlo neutron transport. Previous roles include developing performance-enhancing methods at institutions such as Los Alamos National Laboratory and Idaho National Laboratory, where contributions to neutron transport modeling and simulation were made. Earlier experience includes independent contracting for C-Zero, work as an Applied Research Fellow at Yellowstone Energy, and undergraduate research at the University of Tennessee. Ridley's education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tennessee and a high school background in STEM.
