Senior Director, Policy And Member Advocacy at AAUW

Meghan Kissell serves as the Senior Director of Policy and Member Advocacy at AAUW since March 2023. Prior to this role, Meghan Kissell was the Advocacy Director for Tobacco States & Mid-Atlantic at the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids from November 2020 to February 2023. Additional experience includes serving as the Director of Project One America at the Human Rights Campaign from August 2018 to April 2020 and as the National Monuments Campaign Director at the Conservation Lands Foundation from May 2011 to January 2018. In this capacity, Meghan Kissell coordinated comprehensive campaigns advocating for public lands and collaborated with various stakeholders to protect national monuments. Meghan Kissell also held the position of Director at Spitfire Strategies from May 2010 to May 2011, and served in various roles at the American Diabetes Association, American Association of University Women, American Medical Women’s Association, and DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Meghan Kissell holds a Master's degree in Social Work with a focus on Community Organizing from Howard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Allegheny College.
