Cover Security Officer

JOB TITLE: Security Officer (Holiday Cover)

LOCATION: Friars Walk Shopping Centre, Newport

PAY RATE: £12.00 per hour

SHIFT PATTERN: 3 Days 3 nights 3 off or 4 on 3 off, 20 hours per week

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

An opportunity has arisen at Friars Walk Shopping Centre in Newport, for a Security Officer to join our team working for ABM on a holidays cover basis. This could lead to a permanent Contract.  

20 hours contract per week, unless covering holidays, then it would be 56 per week. This contract includes days, late evenings, nights and weekends.    

Requirements

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
• Provide a security contact for customers and staff.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Deter anti-social behaviour, theft and criminal activity.
• Liaise with the Police and management when required.
• Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities.
• Deal with any difficult situations that arise in a safe and professional manner.
• Always appear polished and professional and always adhere to the Dolphin shopping centre/ABM uniform and grooming guidelines.

Key Skills and Experience Required

• DS licence essential. CCTV desirable.
• A full five-year checkable employment / education history.
• Experience in corporate / retail security is desirable.
• Experience in customer service is desirable.
• Good organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal.
• Computer skills to include basic knowledge of MS Office.
• Valid First Aid at Work certificate desirable.
• Well presented, and high grooming standards.
• Outgoing and friendly with a can-do attitude.
• Reliable & punctual.
