Reed McLean

Reed McLean is a Marine Surveyor at the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) since April 2022, with a background in naval service as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Reserve since June 2017. McLean has held various positions in the Navy, including Lieutenant Junior Grade, where responsibilities included providing tactical advice and ensuring vessel safety, and Ensign, with a focus on supporting Military Sealift Command's operations. Prior to joining ABS, McLean served as a 3rd Assistant Engineer at Transocean from June 2017 to April 2022, where expertise in vessel systems and maintenance was developed. McLean holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, completed in 2017, and studied at Stony Brook University prior to that.
