Laura Barringer is an experienced educational leader currently serving as Head of School and K-12 Academic Director at The Academy for Precision Learning since August 2020. Prior to this role, Laura worked as an Autism Inclusive Hiring Consultant at PROVAIL and held multiple positions within the NYC Department of Education, including Special Education Teacher and Collaborative Coach. Laura's teaching experience spans various educational settings, including the Bushwick School for Social Justice and W H Maxwell Career and Technical Education High School. Laura holds a Bachelor's degree in Feminist Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, a Master's in Education focusing on Teaching Students with Disabilities from Brooklyn College, and is currently pursuing a Principal Certification Program in Educational Leadership and Administration at Eastern Washington University.

Academy for Precision Learning (APL) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit independent K-12 school. Founded in 2007, APL is an inclusive K-12 school serving students across the autism spectrum in an inclusive, academically challenging, and socially vibrant environment. APL operates both a K-12 school and an embedded licensed behavioral health Clinic called Roots. APL provides Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) for students with Autism. We employ 70+ staff with an annual operating budget of over $6 million. Families have moved from Germany, France, India, Hawaii, and many states across the U.S. to send their children to APL.
