Sidra Mahfooz

Sidra Mahfooz currently serves as a Staff Attorney at the ACLU since September 2021. Previously, Sidra held the position of Law Clerk at the Constitutional Court of South Africa in 2021 and worked as an Associate at Debevoise & Plimpton from 2018 to 2021. A Summer Associate role was undertaken at Linklaters in 2017. Earlier experience includes serving as a Research Assistant at New York University School of Law from 2016 to 2017 and as an Honors Scholar at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission during the summer of 2016. Sidra also interned at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York from May 2011 to August 2012. Academic credentials include a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law, a Certificate of Advanced Arabic Studies from Qasid Institute, and a Bachelor's Degree from Stony Brook University.
