Clare Thorp

Clare Thorp is an experienced media and communications professional currently serving as the Head of Media at Action for Children since March 2021. Prior to this role, Clare was the Head of Media and Communications at Little Village, a charity supporting families with young children. A career break was taken in 2019 to focus on family and volunteer activities, including work with The Wiser Collective. Previous positions include Director of Media and Communications Consultancy at the National Theatre, Director of Public Affairs Consultancy at Pro Bono Economics, and Head of Media and Communications at Independent Age, where notable campaigns received significant media attention. Clare's extensive background in journalism includes a long tenure at BBC News, where roles ranged from Senior Broadcast Journalist to research and editorial positions. Clare holds a BSc (Hons) in Politics from Cardiff University.
