Joel Moxley

Joel Moxley is an accomplished Managing Partner at Echelon since 2017, focusing on sourcing outlier founders. Moxley has served as an Adjunct Professor at Stanford University since 2018, co-instructing in the Stanford Climate Ventures program. Additionally, Moxley is a Venture Partner at Breakthrough Energy Ventures, contributing to ecosystem and company building. In 2021, Moxley became Chair at State Bank WY. An angel investor since 2012, Moxley has backed various ventures including Empower Finance and SOURCE Global. Moxley co-founded Rho AI, serving as CEO until 2020 when the core assets were acquired by GM. Moxley's entrepreneurial portfolio includes co-founding Foro Energy and PriorSmart, and holding an Entrepreneur in Residence position at North Bridge Venture Partners. Moxley holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from MIT and a BSE in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University.
