Zhengrui Xu

Zhengrui Xu currently serves as a Fellow at Activate, empowering scientists and engineers to launch startups aimed at addressing climate change and global challenges. Prior to this role, Zhengrui Xu co-founded and held the positions of CEO and CTO at Fermi Energy, focusing on the development of advanced battery technologies. In 2024, Zhengrui Xu participated as a member of the ChargeUp Accelerator's inaugural cohort with New Energy New York, supporting innovative startups in the battery and energy storage sectors. Zhengrui Xu's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Chemistry from Virginia Tech, where experience as a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow emphasized technology commercialization, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy Materials and Devices from 电子科技大学. Additionally, a hands-on internship at Tesla involved materials engineering and cell materials qualification for battery technology.
