Acton Academy
Marolyn Zoey Upshaw is an accomplished arts educator and founder of the Austin Creative Art Center, where leadership has been provided since 1993. As a Principal Instructor, Marolyn fosters creativity and moral growth through fine arts education. Additionally, Marolyn serves as a Visual Arts Teacher at Acton Academy, emphasizing the intrinsic potential of each child and advocating for experiential learning. Previous teaching experience includes a tenure at St. Stephen's Episcopal School, where Marolyn contributed to a diverse community focused on moral development. Marolyn has also held influential positions in the advertising sector as an Art Director at GSD&M and other agencies from 1980 to 1991. Educational background includes a BFA in Studio Art from Texas Tech University, obtained in 1976.
