Christine Riordan

Christine M. Riordan, PhD, is Adelphi University’s 10th president and the first woman to serve in the role. She is an internationally recognized expert in leadership development, team building, and diversity and inclusion, and is recognized for her groundbreaking initiatives to personalize and transform the higher education experience. She is chair, board member and serves on the executive committee for the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities in New York (CICU). Diverse: Issues In Higher Education magazine named her one of 25 Top Women in Higher Education Who Are Making a Difference. Dr. Riordan has published nearly 70 academic and business press articles and is authoring Shift Happens: How to Adapt and Thrive in a Rapidly Changing World of Work. She received both an MBA and a PhD in organizational behavior from Georgia State University and a bachelor’s degree in textile engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
