John Wittig has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. John started their career as a Graduate Student and Teaching Assistant at the University of Cincinnati, where they were responsible for developing curriculum and mentoring junior researchers. John then served in the US Navy as a Navy Nuclear Power Instructor and Class Director, managing engineering officers and operators responsible for the Navy's nuclear powered fleet.
After their military service, John worked at Cytec Solvay Group as a Quality Engineer, ensuring manufacturing processes met industry certifications and customer requirements. John later became a Production Area Manager, leading a cross-functional team in achieving HSE, quality, and productivity goals for a manufacturing area worth $135mm in revenue. In their last role at Cytec Solvay Group, they served as the APAC Composites General Manager, overseeing a team of 70 people and creating a culture of excellence and cost efficiency.
John then joined TAMKO as a Six Sigma Black Belt, where they implemented the Six Sigma system throughout the company and provided leadership to accomplish TAMKO's mission. John was certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt by Lean Methods Group.
Currently, John is working at Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. as the Director of Quality Assurance. John has recently taken on this role and is responsible for ensuring the safety and operational performance of manufacturing, distribution yard, and freight fleet entities.
Throughout their career, John has demonstrated strong leadership skills, achieving significant improvements in areas such as turnover reduction, safety performance, and operational excellence.
John Wittig has a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Physics from Xavier University, which they obtained between 1998 and 2002. John later pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from the University of Cincinnati, completing this degree between 2002 and 2009. In 2017, John also obtained a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from the Lean Methods Group.
