Brian Wang

Brian Wang is an accomplished professional in the field of organic chemistry and research management, currently serving as Programme Director at the Advanced Research + Invention Agency (ARIA) since April 2025. Prior to this role, Brian co-founded and held the position of Executive Director at Panoplia Laboratories from June 2023 to March 2025. From January 2022 to May 2023, Brian was the Head of R&D at Alvea, following a tenure as a Postdoctoral Researcher at MIT Media Lab from January 2020 to July 2022, under the mentorship of Kevin Esvelt. Brian began their research career at UC Berkeley as a Graduate Student Researcher from August 2014 to December 2019, guided by advisor Richmond Sarpong, and previously worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Cornell University from August 2011 to May 2013. Brian holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, completed in 2019, and a B.A. in Chemistry from Cornell University, earned in 2013.
