David Markman

David Markman, PhD, currently serves as an Operating Partner and SETA at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) while also being the Founder and Principal of Markman Group, LLC. Previously, Markman held the position of Vice President for Strategic Partnerships & Business Development at The Public Health Company, focusing on developing an AI/ML-powered global biosecurity platform. Additional experience includes roles at McKinsey & Company as Director of Strategy & Business Development and Acting Director of Public Health, and serving as a National Defense Science & Engineering Fellow at the United States Department of Defense. Markman's earlier positions included consulting for biotechnology startups and conducting health research at the National Science Foundation and Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biological Sciences focused on Biosecurity and an MS in Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology from Colorado State University, along with a BS in Biology from the University of Maryland.
