Alex Richmond is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in operations and management across various sectors. Currently serving as Regional Operations Manager at Advantage Metals Recycling since January 2021, Alex has previously held roles such as Facility Manager, Shredder Supervisor, and Operations Manager in Training within the same company. Prior experience includes leading a team of technicians at Leidos as Site Support Lead for Network Systems Administration and achieving a CompTIA Professional Certification in Cyber Security. Alex also held significant roles at the United States Department of Defense, including Director and Operations Manager, where leadership and operational planning for high-stakes projects were key responsibilities. Academically, Alex holds an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Advantage Metals Recycling (AMR) was formed in 1977 as Galamba Metals Group, headquartered in Kansas City. Galamba Metals Group was purchased and renamed Advantage Metals Recycling in 2008 and is wholly owned by The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ), based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Today we are the largest scrap recycling company in Kansas and Missouri, and operate 11 facilities. We buy all types of ferrous and nonferrous scrap metals at each of our recycling locations, with a team of specialists who continually monitor market conditions to establish fair, competitive prices.
