James Hyatt is currently serving as the Manager - Commercial at AEMO Services. Prior to their current role, James held positions at Enel X as the Manager of Industry Engagement and Regulatory Affairs, ANZ, at the Energy Security Board as a Project Leader, and at the Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) as a Senior Policy Advisor. James has a background in renewable energy, with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Renewable Energy from UNSW and experience in sustainability studies and wind power generation from an exchange program at Uppsala University. Their expertise lies in energy market design, policy development, and strategic advocacy.

In our foundational role as the NSW Consumer Trustee, we are helping bring to life the New South Wales (NSW) Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap by planning and facilitating long-term investment in the network through ongoing competitive tender processes, while monitoring and mitigating financial risks to consumers. Our 10-year rolling plan for competitive tenders will comprise annual long duration storage tenders, biannual renewable energy generation tenders, and firming tenders as directed by the NSW Energy Minister.
