Amir Heidari

Amir Heidari is an experienced Energy Market Modelling Analyst currently working at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) since April 2025, focusing on the impact of sub-regional pricing policy on electricity markets within Australia's National Electricity Market (NEM). Prior to this role, Amir served as an Energy & FCAS Market Models Developer and Strategy Analyst at the University of Melbourne, where responsibilities included designing strategies for inertia subsidies and contingency taxes. Amir has also held positions at the Economic Regulation Authority and Sharif Energy Research Institute, contributing to analyses of energy markets and developing demand response programs. With a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Science in Power Systems Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Amir combines advanced academic knowledge with practical industry experience in energy system design and strategy.
