David Burcher

David Burcher has extensive experience in emergency management and organizational safety, currently serving as the Manager of Health, Safety and Wellbeing at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) since August 2018. Burcher focuses on fostering a supportive safety culture and maximizing talent diversity. Previous roles include Emergency and Business Continuity Coordinator at AEMO, Senior Policy Advisor for Emergency Management at the Department of Premier and Cabinet (Vic), and Senior Project Officer for Emergency Management at both the Department of Treasury WA and the Department of Finance. Early career experience includes positions in policy development and team leadership in various government departments. Burcher holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland and an Advanced Diploma of Public Safety in Emergency Management from FutureWest Institute.
