Karl Schmidt

Karl Schmidt currently serves as a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer at Aescape since November 2023. Prior to this role, Karl held the position of Manager of Testing and Materials at UltiMaker from June 2019 to November 2023 and worked as a Mechanical Engineer at MakerBot from August 2013 to November 2023. Karl began a career in engineering at Bechtel Corporation as a Materials Engineer from 2009 to August 2013 and previously contributed as a Materials Engineer at Lockheed Martin from 2005 to 2009, where participation in a 3-year rotational Engineering Leadership Development Program complemented pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Earlier experiences include a research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on adhesion properties of materials. Karl holds a Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from New York University.
