Jim Schloss

Jim Schloss is a seasoned professional in engineering and system architecture with extensive experience across multiple industries. Currently serving as the System Architect Lead at Aeva since June 2023, Jim has previously held significant roles including Lead Optical Systems Engineer at Meta and Apple, as well as Director positions in Electrical Engineering at Cymer and Engineering at FARO Technologies and Coherent. Jim's career initiated at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a Physicist, followed by management and senior engineering roles at Marsh Company, SSI Technologies, and Tektronix. Educational credentials include a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and dual B.S. degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.
