Balaji Srinivasan has extensive work experience in the telecom industry. Balaji most recently served as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Afghan Wireless in 2020. Balaji previously co-founded and served as the Chief Consultant at Consultex Services Private Limited, a start-up, from January 2020 to December 2020.

Prior to that, Balaji held the position of Chief Commercial Officer at Ooredoo Maldives from November 2015 to December 2019. During their tenure, they were responsible for sales, marketing, customer experience, enterprise, content, e-commerce, and digital financial services. Balaji successfully launched various innovative initiatives, such as the AI-based "Magey Plan" platform and the country's first digital bot launch with "Ooredoo Next" on FB Messenger and Viber. Balaji also played a key role in the conceptualization and migration of the My Ooredoo App into an integrated lifestyle app.

Before joining Ooredoo Maldives, Balaji was the Vice-President of Marketing at Idea Cellular Ltd. from September 2013 to November 2015. Balaji managed the largest telecom circle of Idea Cellular Limited and made significant contributions to the prepaid, postpaid, and enterprise sectors. Their achievements include driving revenue market share growth and launching industry-first products and campaigns.

Balaji's earlier experience includes holding the position of Director of Marketing and Customer Experience at yuMobile (Essar Telecom Kenya Limited) from November 2010 to August 2013, and various roles at Idea Cellular Ltd. from 2003 to 2010, such as Assistant Vice-President of Marketing and Head of Marketing in different regions.

Balaji began their career at Operations Research Group as a Research Officer in 1992 and worked at AC Nielsen as a Senior Research Officer from 1997 to 2001. Balaji also served as a Product Manager at Aircel Limited from 2001 to 2003 and as a Manager at Bharti in 2003.

Overall, Balaji Srinivasan has a diverse background in the telecom industry with experience in marketing, sales, customer experience, product management, and research.

Balaji Srinivasan completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai. Balaji attended the institute from 2017 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree in Economics and Commerce from the University of Madras during the period of 1988 to 1991.

In addition to their formal education, Balaji Srinivasan has also obtained certifications. In 2010, they completed a certification in Emotional Leadership from Idea Cellular Ltd. Balaji acquired another certification in The General Manager's Programme from Aditya Birla Group Leadership Programs in 2008.
