Lavanya Anand is a seasoned investment professional with extensive experience in venture capital and startup investments across Africa. Currently serving as a Senior Investment Manager at AfricInvest Group since June 2023, Lavanya focuses on growth-stage investments through the Cathay AfricInvest Innovation Fund, targeting Series A+ startups. Previous positions include Principal at VestedWorld, where Lavanya contributed to investments in tech-enabled and agribusiness sectors, and Vice President at Kasha Global, Inc. Additionally, Lavanya has held various board roles for startups such as SimpleMarket Inc. and BFREE. Lavanya holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.A. in Business/Economics from UCLA.
