Abdelmeguid Afifi has a strong background in finance and accounting, with notable roles in various companies. Abdelmeguid is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Arab Financial Services since June 2023. Prior to this, they held the same position at Vezeeta from November 2022 to May 2023. Abdelmeguid also served as the Group Chief Financial Officer at Fawry Banking and Payment Technology Services from March 2009 to October 2022, where they achieved impressive milestones in facilitating acquisition transactions and leading the company's IPO in 2019. Before that, they worked as the Financial Controller at Gulf Food Industries: California Garden from August 2006 to March 2009, where they successfully increased the company's profit margins and secured additional bank facilities. Abdelmeguid began their career at Raya in March 2000 as an Accounting Supervisor, where they implemented cost-saving measures and improved project profitability reporting processes.
Abdelmeguid Afifi completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Commerce, majoring in Accounting, at Cairo University from 1995 to 1999. Abdelmeguid then pursued further education and obtained a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification from the Institute of Management Accountants from 2002 to 2007. Later, from 2015 to 2018, Abdelmeguid attended Hult International Business School, where they earned an Executive MBA degree in Business Administration and Management. Additionally, they obtained a CMA certification from the Institute of Certified Management Accountant in 2008.
