Nele Vandersmissen

Nele Vandersmissen is an accomplished environmental professional with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as an Expert Omgeving and Coördinator milieu at Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer since January 2022, Nele previously held the position of Environmental Geologist at AECOM from September 2014 to January 2022. Additionally, Nele worked as a Consultant at ABO NV and as a Junior Consultant at ECOREM, further honing expertise in environmental assessments. Early career roles included being a Junior Environmental Scientist at CH2M HILL and an intern at SCK-CEN, where research focused on luminescence signals in Boom Clay. Nele earned a Master of Science in Geology from KU Leuven, completing the degree in 2012, and a bachelor's degree from the same institution in 2010.
