Andrew Downie has extensive experience in the agricultural industry, with a focus on sales and marketing. Andrew is currently the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Permanent Plantings Division at AgReserves, Inc., where they are responsible for directing the sales and marketing of various products, such as almonds, pistachios, walnuts, pecans, olive oil, and walnuts.
Prior to their current role, Downie served as the Executive Vice President at JSS Almonds / Jess Smith & Sons Commodities, overseeing an international almond marketing operation and managing a processing and packing facility. Andrew also worked as the Vice President at Jess Smith & Sons Cotton, where they bought and sold raw cotton in domestic and international markets, engaging in futures and options trading, hedging strategies, and risk management.
Early in their career, Downie worked as a Cotton Trader at Meredith Jones, Inc., buying cotton from local farmers and selling it in international markets. Andrew began their career as a Trainee Cotton Trader at A Meredith Jones & Co. Ltd. Overall, Downie has showcased their expertise in the agricultural industry through their experience in sales, marketing, purchasing, and trading.
From 1991 to 1994, Andrew Downie attended the University of Stirling, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Accounting and Finance.
