Nils Borchard currently serves as the Head of Research and Innovation at DLG e.V. - German Agricultural Society, managing research activities across the agri-food value chain. Concurrently, Nils is a Visiting Associate Professor at ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management, contributing to the Sustainability and Policy Research Group. Previous experience includes roles as a Visiting Scientist at Humboldt University of Berlin and Project Coordinator at the Natural Resources Institute Finland, where Nils led the SustInAfrica project. Nils has further held positions at Ruhr University Bochum, CIFOR, and the Center for International Migration and Development, focusing on sustainable agriculture and soil science. Nils holds a PhD in Agriculture from the University of Bonn and a Master's degree in Geography from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
