Darren Gates serves as a Consultant Paediatric Intensivist at Alder Hey Children's Hospital since January 2021, leading efforts in Intelligent Health Systems to enhance data utilization in the ICU. In addition to this role, Darren has been a Clinical Innovation Consultant with the Alder Hey Innovation Service since February 2017, where duties include overseeing the AIHQ and spearheading AI healthcare projects like the Living Hospital initiative. As an Ambassador for AIMed since August 2018 and Managing Director of Young Robot since August 2011, Darren contributes to advancements in medical technology and innovation. Educational qualifications encompass an MBChB from the University of Liverpool, a Medical Leadership Certificate from Edge Hill University, a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, and membership in the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
