Pauls Cālītis joined airBaltic as a pilot in 1995. In 2020, Cālītis was appointed as the Chief Operations Officer and Board member of airBaltic. Between 1999 and 2020, he was in charge of airBaltic Flight Operations. He has also served as the member of the board of airBaltic Training and Aviation Crew Resources, both being subsidiaries of airBaltic.
