Zach Hess has a long and varied work experience. In 2021, they began working at Airbase as an Early Enterprise Business Development. In 2020, they worked at Flockjay as a Leader Flockjay Identity Group (Allies) and a Tech Fellow. In 2018, they worked at Hathaway Brown School as a Tennis Coach and Teacher for the Aspire Program, and at Orange City School District as an English Teacher for the Gifted Program. Zach also worked at The Davey Tree Expert Company as an Enablement Manager in 2014, and at the University System of Maryland as a Writing Teacher in 2011. Additionally, in 2011, they were an English Professor at Capitol Technology University, where they founded a student mentorship program for first-gen college students.
Zach Hess obtained a Master's Degree (M.F.A.) in Creative Writing with a Teaching Assistantship from the University of Maryland. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English and Creative Writing from Miami University. Zach also completed a Semester Abroad at King's College London, studying English Language and Literature. Additionally, they have a certification in Adult CPR/AED from the American Red Cross.
