Michael Mulloy has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Michael began their career as a Post-Doc researcher at Institut d'Electronique Fundamentale and later at INESC, Lisbon. Following this, they worked as a Thin Film Technologist at Forbairt and Bausch & Lomb, where they focused on developing coatings for contact lenses. Michael then joined Bookham Technology as a Waferfab Engineer, where they managed the chip prep group. After that, Mulloy worked at HP, starting as a Reliability Engineer before moving on to roles in Business Modeling and Subscription Model Analytics and Business Intelligence. Their responsibilities at HP included developing predictive models and optimizing the performance of the Instant Ink ink subscription service. Currently, Mulloy is working at SSE Airtricity as a Data Scientist and has recently taken on the role of Head of Analytics.

Michael Mulloy completed their Ph.D. in Materials Science at Trinity College Dublin from 1987 to 1992. Prior to that, from 1983 to 1987, they obtained a B.A. Mod. in Experimental Physics from the same institution. More recently, from 2015 to 2018, Michael Mulloy pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Data Analytics at University College Dublin.
