Harel has a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Tel Aviv University, where Harel also worked as a research assistant. Prior to their academic pursuits, Harel gained valuable leadership experience as a Team Leader in Unit 8200 of the Israeli Intelligence Corps and as an Intelligence Officer in the Israeli Air Force.
