Colin Paillet has extensive work experience in various engineering roles. Colin is currently a Process Engineer at AIXTRON SE since April 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Doctoral student at CEA - Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives from October 2018 to December 2021. Colin also completed a Master's thesis at Paul-Drude-Institut für Festkörperelektronik from April 2018 to September 2018. Additionally, Colin has practical experience as an Assistant engineer intern at ALMAE TECHNOLOGIES in 2017 and as Technician intern at both TenCate Advanced Composites in 2016 and Grenoble INP - Laboratoire des Matériaux et du Génie Physique (LMGP) in 2015.

From 2018 to 2022, Colin pursued a Doctorate degree in Condensed Matter and Materials Physics at Université Grenoble Alpes.
Prior to that, from 2015 to 2018, they obtained a degree in Materials Science and Engineering as a Diplômé d'ingénieur from Polytech Grenoble.
Between 2013 and 2015, Colin pursued a Diplôme Universitaire Technologique (DUT) in Chemistry with a specialization in Materials at Université Joseph Fourier (Grenoble I).
In their earlier years, from 2010 to 2013, Colin completed their Baccalauréat Scientifique SVT (Life Sciences and Earth Sciences) with a specialization in SVT from Lycée Marie Curie.
Aside from their educational achievements, Colin also obtained a B driver's license in December 2014.
