Oliver Franken has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Oliver began their career at UPS, where they worked as a Teamleader and Supervisor for ten years. Following this, they joined the Lehrstuhl für Lasertechnik of RWTH Aachen University as a Laboratory Engineer, where they managed projects related to sterilization, surface modification, and exhaust gas treatment. Oliver then transitioned to RWTH Aachen University as a Development Engineer, specializing in plasma technology and EUV technology. After that, Oliver worked at Philips Extreme UV GmbH as a Project Leader, overseeing the assembly, start-up, and testing of EUV light sources for semiconductor lithography. Oliver then joined XTREME Technologies GmbH as a Project Manager, focusing on system installation and field upgrades. Oliver also gained experience at ASML as a Teamleader & System Expert, handling daily issues with LDP sources and implementing upgrades. Oliver later worked at AIXTRON SE as a Project Leader before joining APEVA SE as the Head of Project Management. In their most recent role at AIXTRON SE, Oliver served as a Senior Project Manager and is currently the Department Manager for SE projects.

Oliver Franken completed their Vordiplom in Physics at RWTH Aachen University from 1992 to 1996. Oliver then pursued a degree in Physical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Aachen, earning a Dipl.Ing. (FH) from 1996 to 2000. In terms of additional certifications, Oliver obtained a Senior Project Manager IPMA Level B certification from GPM Deutsche Gesellschaft für Projektmanagement e.V. in July 2019. Oliver also obtained a SixSigma+LEAN GreenBelt certification from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Qualität e.V. in October 2014 and a Fachkraft für Spezialgase certification from The Linde Group in June 2014.
