Noam Freedman

Noam Freedman is Senior Vice President, Networks & Chief Network Architect at Akamai, responsible for Akamai's Global Network organization. With more than 18 years of experience in management and technical leadership roles, he leads a team across 13 countries that manages all facets of building out Akamai's highly-distributed global platform. This includes planning, logistics, deployment and overseeing strategic operator relationships with more than 1,500 networks in over 130 countries worldwide. By early 2019, the Akamai Intelligent Edge Platform delivered more than three trillion interactions daily, with peak traffic having exceeded 70 Terabits per second.

Freedman joined Akamai in 1999 to lead the company's Network Architecture team. He has served as a Chief Architect on Akamai's Architecture Board, providing technical vision, oversight and review for engineering and operations efforts across Akamai. He took on the role of leading the Network organization in 2006. Prior to joining Akamai, he was a member of a computational research group at Argonne National Labs and a lecturer in the graduate program in Computer Science at the University of Chicago.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Chicago and is also a graduate of the Greater Boston Executive Program at MIT’s Sloan School of Management. On Akamai’s behalf, he serves as an observer to the Board of Directors of EdgeConnex.
