Andrew Carlson is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in mechanical engineering, holding a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Currently serving as Engineering Manager for High Horsepower & Systems at AKG of America since October 2017, Andrew specializes in developing standard and custom cooling system solutions for large diesel prime movers in power generation. Prior roles include Product Engineer at AKG Thermal Systems, responsible for high-performance heat exchanger solutions, and R&D Applications Engineer at Barrday Inc., where Andrew managed projects focused on hard armor composite material development. Andrew also has experience in mechanical testing and data analysis from a research assistant internship at UNC Charlotte and gained foundational skills in CNC programming and refrigeration systems through work at Ice Sensations.
