Lorne Thompson, P. Eng. has over 25 years of work experience in the engineering industry. Lorne began their career at BPB Wireline in 1993 as an Open Hole Logging Engineer, where they were responsible for providing open hole logging services and ensuring the quality and accuracy of the logging data. In 1995, they joined AKITA Drilling as a Staff Engineer, where they provided technical support to internal customers and was involved in capital project design and management. Lorne then served as a Sales and Marketing Engineering in Calgary, supporting the technical needs of the marketing staff and managing customer accounts. In 2001, they were promoted to Engineering Manager at AKITA Drilling, where they mentored the engineering department staff, distributed work assignments, and provided project management and technical support. From 2012 to 2018, Lorne held various leadership positions at AKITA Drilling, including Vice President of Engineering and Vice President of Technical Operations, where they played a key role in the oversight, management, and strategic development of the operations group to achieve safety, financial, and performance goals.
Lorne Thompson, P. Eng., obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta, where they studied from 1989 to 1993.
