Akron Executives’ Association was begun in 1963. The purpose of the association is to assist fellow business people to grow and be successful in their own businesses by doing business with them and networking through leads.   It is a powerful concept and one that, although today is very commonplace, AEA takes very seriously, internationally and locally.  There is only one member firm per classification, so there is an exclusivity not available in most `networking’ associations.  The businesses are fully investigated prior to being accepted as members, and indeed, must be sponsored by a current member of the association to even be considered.  Unlike other associations and organizations, the firm is the member, not the representative.

There are still founding member firms who are very active in the association.  This group has very solid roots and is continuing to grow with a current membership of 66.

The Akron Executive Association is a charter member of the International Executive Association.   The Executive Association movement began in San Francisco in 1916.   There are over 110 Executive Associations throughout the world comprised of over 5,000 member firms.   Currently 50 Associations belong to the IEA which affords its members the ability to network internationally.  As a member of AEA you are automatically a member of IEA.
