Serdar Sümer

Born in 1973, Serdar Sümer is a graduate of Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Business Administration. Sumer, who did her master's degree (MBA) at The College of William and Mary in Virginia - USA, completed her doctorate in banking at Marmara University Banking and Insurance Institute in April 2011. Having the Certificates of Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and Certified Public Accountant, Sümer started his career in 1996 as a Sworn Bank Auditor. Between 2008 and 2014, he served as Assistant General Manager of Subsidiary Management and Capital Markets at Aktif Bank. In this process, Sümer developed innovative solutions in line with the financial needs of its customers in order to increase product and channel efficiency in the capital markets. In 2013, it issued Turkey's first project finance lease certificate. He ensured the issuance of Turkey's first bank bonds and VDMK products, and coordinated the bank's subsidiaries and related institutions to have the most effective management structure. Working as a managing partner in one of the leading investment companies for a while and rejoining Aktif Bank as the General Manager in 2015, Sümer continued to serve as the Bank's General Manager and Board Member until the end of 2020. As of 2021, he continues to serve as a Board Member at Aktif Bank.
