Richard's career began at BP, where responsibilities spanned patent attorney roles and technical support, further complemented by postdoctoral research positions at The Royal Institution of Great Britain and the University of Southampton. Richard holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Southampton and a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Liverpool.
