Asma Abbas is currently a Professor of Political Science and Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Al Akhawayn University since August 2022. Abbas has been a faculty member at Bard College at Simon's Rock since August 2005, serving in various roles including Professor of Politics and Philosophy, Director of Transdisciplinary, Experimental, and Collaborative Studies, and Chair of the Division of Social Studies. Additionally, Abbas is an Associate Faculty member at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture and the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research, and serves as the Founding Director of Hic Rosa: An Art, Education, and Politics Collective. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Political Theory, Social Thought, and Comparative Politics from Penn State University, an M.A. in Liberal Studies from the New School for Social Research, and an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration.
