Matthew Haley

Matthew Haley serves as the Executive Director of High Schools and the Executive Director for School Improvement and Accountability at the Alamance-Burlington School System since October 2022. Prior to this role, Matthew held positions as Principal at Western Alamance High School from August 2021 to September 2022 and at Alamance Burlington Early College at ACC from July 2019 to July 2021. Matthew's career in education began at Hawfields Middle School, where important contributions were made as both Assistant Principal and Physical Education Teacher from August 2001 to June 2019. Matthew holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where a Master of School Administration (M.S.A.) was also obtained, along with an Education Specialist (EdS) and Teacher Certification in Physical Education. The educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Physical Education, Exercise and Sports Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
