James Guido Distefano

James Guido Distefano, MD, currently serves as Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Alameda Health System, a position held since July 2019, and previously acted as Interim Chairman. Additionally, James Distefano has been an Orthopaedic Sports Surgeon at Alameda Hospital since October 2012. James Guido completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery: Sports Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital from August 2011 to July 2012. The medical education includes an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Program from 2006 to 2011 and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Upstate Medical University from 2002 to 2006, following a Bachelor of Science in Science Preprofessional Studies from the University of Notre Dame in 2002.
