Cindy Soderstrom has a diverse work experience. Cindy started their career as a Research Coordinator at the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC) in 2003 and later moved on to various communication roles within the organization, including Manager, Communications and Corporate Services and Senior Advisor, Projects. During their time at CAODC, they contributed to industry publications, managed committees, and oversaw the development of a employment website. In 2015, they joined Ronald McDonald House Charities Central and Southern Alberta as the Director of Marketing and Communications, where they led the marketing communications team and handled online communications strategies and media relations. Currently, they work at Alberta Ballet Canada, where they hold the position of Chief Communications Officer and previously served as the Director of Government Relations/Communications and Director of Communications.

Cindy Soderstrom completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing and English Literature from Concordia University in 1998. Cindy also obtained a second Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Linguistics from the same university during the same period. Later on, they pursued their Master of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Calgary from 2001 to 2003.
