Yossi Charytan has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Yossi started their career as the Head of School at MMSC Day School in 2003 and held the position for ten years. Yossi then transitioned to become the Elementary Principal at Rabbinical College of Canada from 2013 to 2015. Following this, they served as an Educator at Yaldei Developmental Center from 2016 to 2021. In 2015, Yossi Charytan also started working as an Educational Consultant in a self-employed capacity. Additionally, they worked as a Parenting Coach & Tool Creator at TemperTheTantrum.com starting in 2019. Most recently, they joined The Aleph Institute in 2021 as a Strategy Writer.

Yossi Charytan obtained a Bachelor of Hebrew Letters in Rabbinical Studies from Yeshiva Gedolah of Greater Miami Rabbinical College from 1996 to 1999. Yossi then pursued a Master of Hebrew Letters degree from the same institution, completing it from 1999 to 2003.

The Aleph Institute is a 501c3 certified non-profit Jewish organization dedicated to assisting and caring for the wellbeing of members of specific populations that are isolated from the regular community: U.S. military personnel , prisoners, and people institutionalized or at risk of incarceration due to mental illness or addictions. Aleph addresses their religious, educational, and spiritual needs, advocates and lobbies for their civil and religious rights, and provides support to their families at home left to fend for themselves. The Aleph Institute is committed to criminal justice reform and recidivism reduction through preventive-education and faith-based rehabilitation programs, re-entry assistance, alternative sentencing guidance and counsel, and policy research and recommendations.
