Zelalem Worku

Zelalem Worku, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Scientist in Formulation and Drug Product Development at Novo Nordisk since May 2024, and has been in a similar role at Alkermes since August 2018, previously holding the position of Scientist in Formulation Development & Drug Product Analytics. Prior experiences include a Research Fellowship at Trinity College Dublin from February 2015 to July 2018 and a PhD researcher position at KU Leuven from October 2010 to December 2014. Zelalem Worku holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Sciences from KU Leuven, a Master’s in Pharmaceutical Technology from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Addis Ababa University. Early career roles include a Lecturer at Mekelle University and a Chief Pharmacist at Dessie Referral Hospital, demonstrating a strong foundation in pharmacy education and practice.
