Dougal Thomson is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience across various organizations. Currently serving as the Head of Communications and Media Relations at the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) since May 2023, Thomson focuses on financial inclusion policy and regulation. Previously, as Communications & Content Director at Ledunfly, Thomson developed strategies for ocean protection and environmental conservation. As a Communications Specialist at The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Thomson managed branding and digital content. Earlier roles include Head of Communications at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and Director of Communications & Programmes at the International Publishers Association, where Thomson enhanced organizational visibility and communications capacity. Additional experience includes managing events and content at companies such as The Economist, Datamonitor, SPG Media Ltd, Ark Group Ltd, and IQPC. Thomson holds a BA Hons in English from Trinity College Dublin and a Diplome d'Etudes Approfondies in Literature from Université Sorbonne Nouvelle.
